Premiers!! 2018 Subiaco/Claremont District Y7/8 Girls


Congratulations to our Y7/8 Girls Team which wrapped up season 2018 in perfect style claiming the premiership flag!

 Wembley defeated Claremont by 33 points at a well attended Grand Final at Penistone Park in Greenwood 8-6-54 to 3-3-21.

Captain Jorja Elisseou was named player of the match.

Many of the team were also part of last season’s runner up finish in the then Y7-9 competition.

WJFC extends its big thanks to Coach Andrew Elisseou and Manager Jodie Schell for their dedication throughout the season and also to all parents who helped in various volunteer roles.

The Club also thanks Girls team sponsor The Pamphleteers and WJFC major sponsor Gow Property for their continued support.

This is the Club’s third premiership title following success in the 2015 Year 8 Boys Blue Division and 2014 Year 11 Boys competition.

In other finals news for 2018:

Wembley Y9/11 Girls made the first week of finals in the Northern Conference Red Youth Competition, going down to the JK Jets 11.4.70 to 2.2.14. A wonderful effort for a team which went through the whole season with low numbers. Many thanks to Coach and Manager Steve and Rosie Dixon.

Wembley Y7 Black Boys Team made the Preliminary Final of the Y7 Subiaco/Claremont Gold Competition going down by just two points to the Sorrento Duncraig Tigers 8-1-49 to 6.11.47.Big thanks to coaches Brad Williams and Andrew Moody and Manager Jess Buckels.

Northern Conference Fairest and Best Count

Congratulations to Wembley’s Grace Wilkie of our Y9/11 team who finished runner up by just one vote in the Fairest and Best Count for the Red Youth Girls competition. Well done Grace!
